Industrial scissor lift platforms
Industrial scissor lift platforms move goods and materials between different levels, serve production lines and connect the working level to vehicles or loading docks. They can be made of painted steel, hot-dip galvanised steel or stainless steel, which is particularly suitable for the food industry or wherever a hygienic environment is needed.
Lifting is by hydraulic cylinders and power unit. Based on capacity, stroke, deck size, cycle frequency and load distribution, G4 sizes the most suitable configuration, including double or multiple scissor designs. Safety devices and accessories are available, such as guardrails, electric interlocks, protective bellows, landing gates and anti-shear sensors.

Where scissor lift platforms are used
Every platform starts from a specific handling problem: overcoming a height difference, bringing the load to the right height for the people working, or connecting two levels of the plant.
Loading and unloading vehicles
Installed in front of the dock or flush with the floor, it carries goods from the yard to the bed of a truck or van where there is no loading bay or vehicles have very different heights.
Production lines and ergonomics
Raises and lowers the load to the most comfortable working height, reducing bending and manual lifting for operators on assembly, packaging and palletising lines.
Connecting different levels
Connects mezzanines, raised floors and areas of the plant at different levels, so goods and materials can be moved without a forklift.
Scissor configurations
The configuration depends mainly on how far the deck has to rise and how big it is:
- Single scissor: the most compact solution, for shorter strokes.
- Double vertical scissor: two stacked scissors for a longer stroke with the same footprint.
- Double horizontal scissor: two scissors side by side under a long deck, for long or heavy loads.
- Multiple scissors: combinations of several scissors for long strokes or large decks.
Lifting is hydraulic, with cylinders and a power unit. The structure can be painted steel, hot-dip galvanised for outdoor use, or stainless steel for the food industry and environments that must stay clean.
What we need to size the platform
To propose the right configuration we need:
- Capacity: maximum load weight, including any equipment that drives onto the deck (pallet truck, forklift).
- Deck size, based on the pallets, packages or vehicles to be carried.
- Stroke: height from lowered to raised position, and whether it will be installed in a pit flush with the floor.
- Loading method: from which side and how it is loaded, and how the weight is distributed.
- Duty: how many cycles per hour or per day.
- Environment: indoor or outdoor, humidity, food or aggressive agents.
Safety and accessories
Depending on the use and the height reached, the platform can be fitted with:
- guardrails and gates on the deck
- landing gates with electric interlocks
- protective bellows around the scissor
- anti-shear sensors around the deck
- push-button stations and controls positioned to suit the workflow
Lifting platform FAQs
What is the difference between a lifting platform and a goods lift?
A scissor lift platform raises the deck with one or more scissors driven by hydraulic cylinders and does not need a masonry lift shaft: it is installed on the floor or in a shallow pit. It suits limited height differences and frequent loading and unloading.
Can it be installed flush with the floor?
Yes. With a pit as deep as the lowered platform, the deck is level with the floor when lowered and can be loaded directly with a pallet truck or forklift.
Can it work outdoors?
Yes, with a hot-dip galvanised structure and weather-resistant components. For food environments or frequent washing, a stainless steel version is available.
What do you need to give me a quote?
Capacity, deck size, stroke, loading method, duty and installation environment. If you have a drawing or a few photos of the installation point, attach them to your request.
